Biography:

In 1997 Mrs. O'Connor-Connolly became Cayman's first woman Minister and served in the capacity as the Minister of Community Affairs, Sports, Women, Youth and Culture.

From October 2003 to April 2005 she served as Minister for Planning, Communications, Constituency Administration and Information Technology. In 2009 to 2013 she serve as Minister for Constituency Administration, Lands, Works, Agriculture and Finance.

Speaker of the House from November 2001 to October 2003 and again from 2013-2017.She was the first elected female Speaker and is currently the longest serving female politician in the Legislative Assembly.

Following her re-election in May 2017 she was appointed Minister for Education, Youth, Sports, Agriculture and Lands.

Mrs. O'Connor-Connolly has been elected to the Legislative Assembly since 1996; she is the first woman to represent the Sister Islands. She is also the first woman to become Deputy Premier and Premier of the Cayman Islands.

Born and raised on Cayman Brac, she obtained a B.A. (Summa Cum Laude) and taught at the John Gray High School. She later obtained her LLB from the University of Liverpool and was a practicing attorney before entering politics.

Mrs. O'Connor-Connolly is President of the Cayman Islands Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, a member of Exco on the Regional CPA and has also served as an Exco Member on CPA International.

Over the years she has served on numerous Government Boards and Authorities and was a Director for Cayman Airways for 11 years.

She is the mother of Kamaal Connolly and Kimberly Walton and a longstanding faithful Member of the Church of God (Hol.)
