- Biography:
- A former longtime civil servant Mr Bernie Bush is extremely well-known in the local community, particularly among sports enthusiasts.
- In 1978 Mr Bush helped found Scholars International. He is also a co-founder of Future Sports Club and a founding member of the local Special Olympics Committee, where he worked his way from coach to the post of president. He was president of the Cayman Islands Amateur Athletics Association (C.I.A.A.A), and vice president of the C.I. Cricket Association.
- No stranger to other arenas of community leadership, he served as PTA President of West Bay Primary for seven years and has sat on boards such as the National Drug Council, Liquor Licensing Board and the Immigration Board.
- Mr Bush has a diploma in Sport Science from Carnegie University in Leeds, England. He and his wife Blossom have one daughter, Shakeina and one son Hakeem.
