Questions to Honourable Ministers and Members of the Cabinet

The Honourable Leader of the Opposition, the First Elected Member for West Bay, to ask the Honourable Minister responsible for Tourism, Environment, Investment and Commerce

  • No. 1: To say how did the Minister come about the decision to remove the cargo port.
  • No. 2: To say what was the loss, if any, before subsidy of Cayman Airways Ltd. for 2006 and 2007, and when will the accounts be tabled in the Legislative Assembly.
  • The Honourable Leader of the Opposition, the First Elected Member for West Bay, to ask the Honourable Minister responsible for Education, Training, Employment, Youth, Sports and Culture

  • No. 3: What was the cost of the 2007 compared to the 2008 Heroes Day celebration, giving a break down of cost for:
    • printed material;
    • Andro Equipment rental; and
    • other costs.
  • The Honourable Leader of the Opposition, the First Elected Member for West Bay, to ask the Honourable Leader of Government Business and Minister responsible for District Administration, Planning, Agriculture and Housing

  • No. 4: There has been a review and re-valuing of the Government property remaining on the Benson Greenall Estate. Can the Minister say:
    • how much of the property and leases have been re-valued;
    • how many new leases have been granted; and
    • who renegotiated the new leases.
  • No. 5: To say how much was paid for printing services such as various books, stationary and documents including the Constitutional review documents and advertising, since May 2005 to present.
  • No. 6: To say:-
    • who printed the Mid-Term Report which was tabled on Monday 10th December, 2007;
    • what was the cost of the production including the printing of it;
    • was Government Information Services’ staff used to produce any of the Reports; and
    • how many copies were printed.

  • No. 7: What safeguards are in place under the Government’s financial assistance programme to ensure that money collected by others on behalf of recipients is used for the recipient’s benefit.
  • The Fourth Elected Member for West Bay to ask the Honourable First Official Member responsible for the Portfolio of Internal and External affairs and Portfolio of the Civil Service

  • No. 8: What is the policy regarding work permit holders adding dependents to their work permits.

  • No. 9: Does Cayman Airways Ltd. owe any monies to the Cayman Islands Airport Authority and, if yes, how much and what is the aging of these amounts.
  • The Second Elected Member for West Bay to ask the Honourable Minister responsible for Education, Training, Youth, Sports and Culture

  • No. 10: Has the long standing practice of using locals for cleaning service at some Government Schools been ceased and, if so, what is the alternative.
